Re: WTF is up with this patch???
I need help with this stupid patch. I have 3 Hard drives , 2 internal and 1 external. I have my game in the external which is 500 GB but it keeps telling me that there isn't enough space. My C drive only has about under 2 GB left and D drive has about 40 GB left. Anyone have any answers? solutions? ideas? magic? voodoo? anything?

when you run it, be careful, on one of the boxes will be somewhere you can change the install directory for the patch itself...make sure it's on the full drive.
Oh, another problem might be it's using your C drive as a temp drive as it d/l's the patch.....clear out your windows temp files, IE temp files, winRAR temp files, etc etc.

I tried to install again and it said I already had a newer version, which I did not.
After doing some fact finding, the problem was that the registry install directory for BF2 was all fubard and pointing to the AIX download location, why? don't know, ask the patch install creator.
So I had to manually change the directory in the registry, this should work, although in my case with EA Download manager, I had to uninstall, remove all the files, reinstall BF2, then put patch back in, to get the BF2.exes to work after.
Look for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SOFTWARE / Electronic Arts / EAGAMES / Battlefield 2 /
and then look off to the right at the InstallDir file and the path next to it, also the Version file will be in there, if it's still 1.4 then the patch went some place else according to that path.
Hope this helps some one!
