Give commander a chance!!!!!
Last night I decided to take the on being commander after nobody else did. I think the map was Smoke Screen. It was about a minute in the round when I decided to do it. Not 10 seconds after I became commander a squadleader started to tell me that there were tanks at one the the flags. Then started to complain about me not doing anything. I tried to tell him let me get settle in as commander, then another squadleader said I should have control of the map by then. So instead of getting into argument I resigned (maybe right or wrong thing to do). I request is give a late arriving command a chance to scan the map before yelling at him or her. This is my vent for the month.

Yeah....you have to take some people with a grain of salt. Next time, tell them you just got there, and only because no-one else had the balls to step up. We need more good commanders around here. You certainly don't need to take any crap.....YOU were the ONE who stepped up....not them.

Re: Give commander a chance!!!!!
The first guy to get blamed for a loss is always the commander. It doesn't matter how good you are at commanding, if your team is losing its your fault in someones twisted little world. While the commander plays a large role in intelligence, that's all you really do besides drop arty. If they didn't cap the flags at the start of the round then there is no way in hell its your fault considering you had just got there.
If it turns into harassment and starts interrupting your game play and commanding abilities, request an admin and have them removed.

At least you stepped up

Re: Give commander a chance!!!!!
Yup... everyone else made the point pretty clear.
Let the squad leader know you just stepped up and need some time before you can be of any help. If they keep on badgering you after you let them know you are on the job, get an admin to take care of it.
Thanks for stepping up though... we really need more of our regs trying to take up the seat.
