well right now I've tapped into a open network by my bus stop so i'll make this quick.

i have hade no useful internet connection in the last 24 hours.

i was lucky enough to be blessed by 2 simultaneous problems both of which they said would be fixed by now and both of which aren't.

so, hpofu;y it will be fixed by tonight, even then i'll still be going out of town this weekend and while we have internet where were going, its not so fast.

or not, apparently charter is switching out all the local routers so that the network can handle up to 60mbs
this is a job they could do in half an hour if the culd shut down the network, but if they do the FCC slaps them with a major fine.

practical upshot?

once it's done i'll go from 10mbs to 17.5mbs without having to pay more.

well it looks like its back up, but its being capped for now.

No shit. Charter fucked me so badly with their random outages and refusal to pay for the lost days and weeks of lost connection... it was fucking pathetic.

Got AT&T and haven't looked back.
