If you want to try real flying, fly the Project Reality aircraft.

Oh, chopper piloting. Sorry. Laser mouse and lots of practice. Watch the uav and remember where all of the AA sites are. Communication with your gunner is a plus.

    Summed up:

Your #1 Priority is the enemy jets, you should be trying to kill them above all. Once you do this you'll be able to kill 90% of the pilots on our server.....Cause they all ignore jets....and if your lucky shout hacks!

For evasion make sure you don't do barrel rolls, its not star fox and you will die. Do not fly in straight lines ever, unless bombing cause it makes it harder for people to fall into your trail. Watch your 6' with the "c" button or set up other stuff for camera views or you will be quickly killed even by the careless 90% mentioned above.

Most importantly, do not be that guy that flies at 100-200 altitude....If anything at least read this....

Reading diagrams and stuff won't help you as much as time in the jet, if you want to dog fight sometime send me a PM.

Re: Questions from a noob pilot

Having personally experience manno's teaching i can say that most of what he will teach you is in his flyers guide, there are a few things left out if i remember correctly so being trained by him is nothing but just having him read that guide you and putting it into practice as he says it.

    Key things to remeber;

Joysticks are easier for the brain and make changing camara angles faster.

Cockpit, Rear view, and chance are the key camara angles.
1 to see what your flying at
2 to see whats flying at you
3 to see where the enemy has banked to once they leave you front view

Bombers, J10s, Migs, and 18s have invertion angles that dodge missles.
They are not all the same you need to find them, i believe mannos tell them, but the main idea is when an enemy is right behind you, with his belly to the ground, you want to roll over and put your belly to the sky then bank.

Bombers are for bombing, they do well against 35s but really you should focus on remaining away form enemy aircraft in a bomber because fighters can out manuver and take you down with machine guns. when you get more experience is when you can chase down fighters.

Hight = friend, but keep an eye out and learn the hight limits of the maps, this is the point which you loose control. Also be awhere of the angle at which you are approching that ceiling. If im chaseing a guy and hes heading up at a 70 degree angle and we are at 500 and climbing, i will bank down to only approch at a 35 which translates to much less time and space needed to pull the nose down. So you may not get the kill but he has a good chance of greeting the moon.

You can play hit and runs, dumping all your missels at a traget, hoping one hits and his flares go out, then dashing back for more missels as to hit him again before his flares recharge, but ALWAYS KNOW, everyone knows exactly where your going to be on the map. I remeber a guy saying i was hacking because he would release all the missels of his mig on tampa, then when he broke off, i just turned around and went straight to his airfeild to blast him out of the sky, and we did this again and again and again.

Mannos lesson is alot to read, but if you want to be good you have to know all of it by heart,

    THE BIGGEST THING TO KNOW

Is you don't have to wait for the lock to hit the target. Sneak up on the enemy, by the way is done by always flying in bomb mode, Sneak up on them, closer the better, and the moment you switch to missel, let'em fly probly release 4. The first will miss, the second will track the traget, and the third and forth may or may not have a chance if they are quick to flare. Combind this with pepperin the shit out to of the and you will take down most people. The better pilots are always watching infront and behind as you will have to come in on them for high up or form the side like you were gonna T bone them.

And the best piece of advise he game me,

Your gonna get shot down, thats just the reality.

And it is just a game so remeber, dont expect to be untouchable or an ace, killing with every shot.
Jets of 300 to 600 rounds along with 6 missels, it takes two to kill, there will be wasted shots.

Oh as for choppers, remeber, alot of the time its easier to shot a target thats moving away form you rather then one approuching. Indians on horse back often turned to shoot what already pasted. Unless they are just floating there, shot to where they will be, simple but so few remeber to do this, also with Stingers, aim at them to get a flare dump, gravity pulls them down so then aim above the chopper, this will break the tracking to the flares and clear the board, so now you can lock only on the chopper.
