Thread: Can't stay Connected.

So, I get on today for the First time after i wiped my computer and all that stuff.

But, For some reason, I just can't Stay connected to the server. Sure, i get On for like two seconds. But, then, It Boots me back to the Main screen, Saying i lost Connection. I try to reconnect, but it doesn't even get to the loading screen before it says ive lost connection.

I Updated Punkbuster Manually, so its not that. Anybody have any ideas That can help?

I already Updated Punkbuster manually, So im Pretty sure its not that. That was the first thing i did.

I had the same problem. Turned out to be my fancy new Belkin router. And every new fancy router for that matter. Something to do with the NAT. So, I went back to my old Belkin WirelessG router, since non of the computers in my residence uses a type N wireless. It has the ability to completely disable the NAT. Non of this DMZ or whatever crap.

Ok, so i found oout it's not just TTP that im having problems with. It's pretty much every server.

I Uninstalled and Reinstalled 2142, so maybe that will fix it.

Option, if there's nothing wrong with your connection or firewalls, but you can't stay connected to any server for longer than a couple of minutes, then its almost always Punkbuster, not your game. You can uninstall/reinstall PB without have to reinstall 2142. Go here and download pbsvc.exe:

Another thing you can look at if you're curious are the PB *.log files on your computer. Under XP, they are located at C:\WINDOWS\system32\LogFiles\PunkBuster. Sometimes what can happen is PnkBstrB won't start when it is supposed to. If that's happening you'll see "WARNING: CRITICAL ERROR: Failed to Register Service". Pretty much, you'd still need to use pbsvc to reinstall the services.

PB will also kick within minutes for overlays, usually with Fraps, but sometimes with Steam and Xfire. I had a problem recently playing BF2 (Steam version) on Win7 RC with Xfire on.

I got it fixed now.

Was just my Video Drivers, i only jsut learned today that the Person who put All the drivers back on my computer didnt update them all the way.
