Well that's where experience comes in...you gotta know when to hold 'em. ...and sometimes troops aren't getting killed by armor or ground troops but by a helo or a bomber that just keeps raping a flag...so you see those brown circles all over a flag, you'll fly over there and check out what's killing all these friendlies...then you shoot down the helo, or the bomber, or whatever it is that's raping the flag.

But if you're not using the medic kit, you won't know what flag that helo or bomber keeps hitting...or at least it will not be AS obvious...
