Wow, Just WOW>..... ANNOYING!
First I can't get BF2 to work, fix it by disabling the Steam in-game overlay.
Then I can't get PR to work, fix it by downloading the auto hot key.
Then I can't get on TTP servers, fix it by downloading the xmas and snow map packs.
Now I am getting 5 minute bans for MD5 tool mismatches on BF2.exe SERIOUSLY?
I have downloaded nothing but the official stuff, why is this happening to me!?Rumble

Had Steam check my files, had 4 that failed integrity and redownloaded them, still getting md5 tool kicks from PB.

Re: Wow, Just WOW>..... ANNOYING!
Well, since this is up, I'll describe my own problem here. As stated in another topic, had a crippling crash last night that sent my computer into a restart cycle - meaning, it would get to the load screen (with the microsoft logo), fade to black, then restart again with the blue Hewlett-Packard screen. This would go on and on and on and on no matter how long I waited or what I did. Eventually, I just said "Fuck it" and ran a system recovery. That worked, somewhat - I can now freely access the desktop and internet.
This has happened before. In the summer of 2008, my computer suddenly crashed and restarted on me, God knows what happened, and I ended up running a system recovery. I had internet access, but all of my games were uninstalled and/or I could not access them, period, due to missing files.
Right now I am running a few tests involving running games and reinstalling games. Steam games are unresponsive, as I clicked the desktop shortcut for L4D2 at least eighteen times to get a "loading" message which fades and then does nothing. The same happens when I attempt to launch from Steam. When attempting to access TF2, I get the "loading" message but it does not fade until I exit it. I attempt to access BF2 from desktop, I get a black screen as if it is about to start for an instant and then it exits to desktop. I attempt to access BF2 from disk and I get the little menu but it says "Install" instead of "Play," so I click that. I get to "preparing to install files" and get a second installation window that starts running something related to installation. The loading bar on that one gets to the end and a message pops up claiming "Cannot determine which version. Program will now terminate." which it does. I wait a few more seconds and get a "Installation was interrupted" window and a "Finish" from InstallshieldWizard and BF2 is not installed. Currently I am running installation on my single-player games (Medieval II: Total War at the moment), which seems to be working, for now.
I'm afraid I may have to take my CPU in for repairs again as I did before in '08. The Catastrophe of '08 had resulted from an apparent virus in my systems, which I am suspecting has happened again. Neither time have I done anything that would seem to plant a virus in my system, but both times I had recently downloaded and installed several game-related mods/files: Last time it was several mods for Medieval II: Total War, this time it was the Operation Snow Storm map for PR (most recently), and that's not including the fucking million small programs, mods, and files I've had to DL for L4D, PR, and other responsibilities.
M2TW has just reinstalled, or so it would seem. Let's see what happens.
UPDATE: Fears have been confirmed. Attempted to run M2TW and it "encountered an unspecified error and has to exit." This happened last time, I suspect due to corrupted/destroyed files. I am assuming this has happened to all of my games, including Steam, and am gonna take in the CPU.WHEN LIFE GIVES YOU LEMONS, BURN DOWN LIFE'S HOUSE
