PR Mic glitch?

Maybe this belongs in Tech Sticky, dunno. Anyway, last night I had no mic function but game sounds running in fine...except I couldn't talk to or hear anyone in my squad. Others, claimed they had no mic's either relagating all to typed commo. (suxors) I went to options>audio>enable voip>save>change confirmed/accepted>back to game and still no voip but now others claim theirs is working fine? I check all my hardware connections, etc and no problem(s)...then, go to TTP's vanilla server and mic works fine like always. So, is it me, PR or something in-between? Last, I tried to fix the voip thing 2-3 times while in game and noticed that the settings I'd previously saved were not saving...whaddupwitdat?

If you alt-tab out, it will "delay" your microphone for about 2 minutes... but will fix itself in time (5-10min) So your teammates will be able to hear you, but you wont hear their response until 2-3 min later.

You can also try going to the TAB menu in-game, go to " manage" and mute and unmute yourself from there.
That has worked for me several times.

Tried again last night and still nada...mic works flawlessly in all other games (CS:S, BF2, etc.) In <Options, Audio> it's set (by default?) to "Software, High". I have a new Creative XFi/7.1 soundcard and am wondering if I shouldn't be setting that to "Hardware, High" or some such?

You need to look at my profile and get my Xfire name, then send me an invite. When I get home this evening I will try to assist you with your mic problem. Since I have a creative X-Fi, there are a few things I know to look into.

same thing happened to a buddy of mine he said his Gcard was messed up or something

he tried everything to fix it reinstalled and all messed with all his settings but came to that conclusion.
