I reloaded my OS (Windows 7 X64) a few weeks ago and BF2142 keeps turning the mic boost off. I can't remember if it is a Direct X issue or BF2142 audio setting. Can someone remind me what I need to change to correct this? Its annoying to have to leave the server to re-enable the boost and rejoin again, and of course it disabled it when the server changes maps..

I had this issue with an Audigy 2 card when I first got BF2142 and I had to change something to fix it. I upgraded to a USB 5.1 headset a year ago without any issues; however, I recently reinstall Windows 7 X64 back in Thanksgiving and the stupid mic boost is turning itself off all the damm time after EACH map load.
Is it the Direct X sound acceleration? I recall having to change that to stop BF2 from crashing when I used to play it.
I already set my audio in BF2142 to use software and no EAX.

You can set the mic boost setting directly in the config files in your Documents folder. I'd like to say it's Audio.con. As long as you have mic boost set in the sound control panel, you can pretty much ignore the GUI in-game. I've found that it does not reliably represent the actual setting in the sound settings in Vista or W7.
