    Not flames.

    A claymore is basically a shape charge that is directional and shoots out large steel shot like a shotgun in a wide arc. I've been told its equivalent to 40 shotguns going off at once per mine, so the thought of 4 of these going off at once would decimate anything in range.

    Area denial anyone?

    I figure you can put them somewhere hidden as an ambush tactic on an obvious route to an area or as a denial tactic where you place them in the open to funnel the enemy into more convenient places for you to attack them.
