    PR MUMBLE CHANNEL RULES

    Re: PR MUMBLE CHANNEL RULES

Hey thanks for posting that Palerider, I recall having read that some months back. I asked, because I never used it as I've never lead a squad before so I was just curious how this worked in-game. But thanks for clearing that up!

Just to add to what pale said, the "Squad Leader Radio" means only squad leaders SHOULD use it, anyone CAN use it if they set up their mumble wrong. When that happens Everyone hears Everything they say.

Mumble can not tell if you are a squad leader or not so it doesn't know if you should, or should not, be able to use that function.

Speaking of which, I want to revisit this thread. Yesterday, after playing a round, it occurred to me that we are not properly using Mumble. I was a SL and Loper wanted to fly helos in my squad so we could communicate, but I asked him to start up a Helo squad so I could focus on infantry. Problem was, we couldn't communicate with each other. Which brings up the SL channel. Why weren't we using this yesterday? I have no f-ing clue. If I had just been in the SL channel with Loper, we could have totally communicated via the SL chat while being in separate squads and we wouldn't have had the problem we had yesterday. So this is a reminder to everyone who is using Mumble but not fully realizing the potential or not even using Mumble, that there is no limitation in communication if we take advantage of Mumble. I'm going to have to try and remember to join the proper channels next time I'm on so we can have open communication between SL's and transport squads or APC squads.

    Re: PR MUMBLE CHANNEL RULES

Is there some new etiquette for using Mumble now? It seems like everyone is just piling in the main TTP channel now instead of getting into the specific Team channels. Is there a reason for this? Too much confusion about which in-game team is which corresponding Mumble team? Too much of a hassle to Alt-Tab in and out of PR? I honestly prefer the 1 channel to 2 channels, so if this is the will of the people, so be it, but I hope this also means more people will be using it.
