I should reiterate that, the shaders don't work properly on at least the 4870X2 (and possibly the 5970). It has to do with the native Crossfire being enabled and BF2's renderer; the flashbang effect is pure white, the gas/near-death shader turns everything pure black. Disabling Crossfire (by turning off Catalyst AI) works to make the shaders look correct, but the game will then display a flickering, shimmering ring of black polygons all over the ground at a certain distance/LOD, all the time.
Neither of which is an amenable solution. Either the game looks fine and the shaders don't work, or the game looks like crap but the shaders come through properly. So understandibly, anyone with that card is probably going to be screwed if the PR devs start adding a new shader every time one scopes in, especially one that I think is based on the gas/near-death effect.
