Never......EVER....are there more than 60 people playing the game. Never. Ever ever ever. Go read about slots on CC. IF you want, we can set it to 32 reserved slots, and you can see how it stays at 32. Have 10 reservists connect....get in game, and watch 10 "miraculous" disconnects all happen at once.
The kick message IS "disconnected".

But....feel free to try. Draco said he was going to set up the match server and try. So go try. 12 slots, 6 reservists, 12 of you connect, and tell me how many can stay in the game.

His point, and yours, if that if someone joins, the server "waits" for people to lock up, or crash, or disconnect willingly, and has no power to kick non-reservists to keep the player count at 60. That is also 100% false. As proven by the active player count NEVER going above 60, and by the total connected players rarely touching 61 or 62 (while people are connecting) and NEVER holding at those numbers, most especially not at 64.
If we can hold 60/60 for minutes/hours at a time, we could hold 64/64. We don't, because the server is kicking people back down to the 60 level.

Look dude, I never said that, never typed that, and never even thought that. Draco isn't saying that either. All he is saying, and I could care less whether he is right or wrong at this point to be honest, is that the server does not kick people, but waits for them to disconnect. I am sure he will test it at some point, and whomever is right can get some championship belt or some crap, but I bet $100 that I know, as well as the other 2 you mention, that there can be more than 4 reservists on the server seeing as how there are often double digit admins on at a time, not even counting reservists.

Re: Question about kicks vs res slots
good. so we're all in agreement that more than 4 reservists can get on the server.
now....since no one feels like accepting the publicly available proof that it's NOT POSSIBLE to have more than 60 people playing at once, nor the solid evidence showing that a few connections here or there aside, the server popualtion sits flat at 60 for hours on end, and NEVER goes above 61 or 62 (when people are connecting over and over)....
all that's left is to join up 4 or so reservists at once, and get in game. SURELY.....4 people won't all of a sudden lock up and crash at that moment, and you should be able to get in the game, pushing the PLAYER COUNT (not connected count) above 60.
Of course....it won't happen. And over and over....4 people will simply magicaly "disconnect from the server" at that moment. Over and over. Forever.
That "disconnected from the server" happens to NON-RESERVISTS 10:1 over reservists for a reason.

Re: Question about kicks vs res slots
I care. telling reservists that "only the first 4 can get in" means we are taking their money for nothing.
and that's not true. Especially in BF2. In 2142....technically, only the first 24 can get in. EA's ranked rules prevent the server having reserved space for more than 50% of the server's max player count. BF2's rules and CC do not function this way.
BOTH, however, allow reservists to connect to a "full" server and kick nonreservists after they do so.

I'm not saying ONLY 4 reservists could connect... What I was saying was that when the server was full, 4 could connect until slots were freed up. My understanding of BF2 was that it didn't force disconnects, but rather waited for attrition to kick in.
