So...

We will be required to fully format our current box (which hosts BF2 and 2142 and L4D 1), install TC-admin, and then plug all the servers back in, one by one.

It's.....a big deal. And it's going to take time. EA I guess is really serious this time about access and drama with the server files, so.....we're going to have to do the dance.

Is GT just a service that constantly asks for updates on the server? Who hosts the service and are there any logs generated that we can inspect for errors? I would be more than happy to assist if there is a need.
