    Battlefield 1943 seemed like much more of a guinea pig for the frostbite engine than this. It was small, simple, and low-priced. Just the sort of thing you'd want to try a new engine out, whilst a bigger project starts development with it so that the guinea pig gives you the response you need to perfect the engine.

    Except they never released 1943 for the PC... BC1 used the Frostbyte engine too.
