That is... bizarre as fuck....

My best guess is that those people are really connected to a different server and the EA master is just.... ghosting them into existence on ours...

When in doubt blame the EA master servers... it works for DICE.

Just happened to me. Was all alone for about 45 secs, then the server was full.

Just like that.

Was about 8:50 AM EST.

This might actually be it and this might actually be a really good thing considering it will introduce our server to people. Although, it happens so fast and seems to be happening often that it's hard to think that the game is choosing our server over all of the others to fill up...

Questions:
1. Does BF2 have the "play now" button and do people typically use it?
2. Out of everyone that have experienced this weird occurrence, has anyone established communication with any of the folks that joined the game so suddenly? If so, how many people did yall speak to?

I dropped for a couple rounds this morning, the server was empty, then in a few minutes was populated with Euro's.

I know this because the voip worked just long enough for me to hear some of them.

Our morning is their late evening, so it makes sense.

I started asking questions like
"investigater- I'm from Illinois, where is everyone else from?"
"Players- no reply"

Wasn't very long after I was getting blown up in my tank from an Apache and all hell broke loose, as they do in war, almost instantly. then there was chat going on... I bet money on it being the "Play Now" function as it takes so much trouble to search servers for 5 mins or try the borked Favorite/History list.
