And, with no method to talk (VOIP to the entire team reliably) how do you get a clear team objective?

And for the record - I have a negative K/D atm lol. So while I might be one of TTPs resident snipers, BC is not a camp fest for me as that is not my style in any of the games that I "snipe" in.

But even in games that I've been in with TTP regs/residents it still feels very disjointed and 'Oh I think I'll go over here and shoot at this thing" respawn - now I'll go over here and shoot at this other thing.
i was thinking alongs the lines on how we admined things on cod4, granted that had a wroking voip.

In general snipers make good squad leaders, e.g. spawn point, can place orders easier, verbal/visual spotting, motion sensors, virtual eyes on the back of your head, can lay down a blanket of death for the squad to get from A to B, etc.

The important part is the communication and taking initiate. Sure its a stereotype of the play style but most snipers don't even bother moving not even for a grenade.

    Re: Leadership roles lacking...

I wasn't crazy about the squad play of this game at first but now that I have gotten used to it, I have found it to be decent. It isn't anywhere near as cooridnated as BF2 but it can be even more effective when it comes to squad play. We can use Wake Island as an example... how many times is there one man left standing in your squad but everyone has to leave the squad and reform up on him to spawn on the island? (or even worse he dies right before everyone can spawn on him) In BC2, if you still have one man resourceful enough to survive even though the other 3 members of the squad croaked you can still spawn on him because (correct me if I'm wrong here) he becomes the squad leader (even if I'm wrong about the becoming a squad leader the fact that he is still a spawn point still stands). A well rounded squad will do well, just as in bf2.

There are a few things though that people need to get better with:
Recon === use your damn motion sensors.... knowledge is power.
Assault ==== Drop those ammo packs (hell I'm guilty of this as well... I forget to drop them half the time)
Medics ==== Drop those health packs
Engineer === I haven't played enough of to make any comments

    Re: Leadership roles lacking...

I almost rage quit yesterday due to players (regs in TTP clans at that) not playing together. Seriously, if a squad member is still alive and near the MCOM station, why not spawn on him, why spawn on the main base every single time?

If defending and the charge was set by the enemy, I was the only one in my squad making a rush to defuse, the rest of the TTP regs in my squad stayed back.

The game is fun as hell to play but if there's no way to control the team then it sucks. The addition of two more servers was a mistake I think, while it's awesome that I can get on easy, the percentage of teamplayers on each map lessened as it got spread out over 4 servers instead of 2.

4 would and will be ideal if the TTP reg population in game was higher.
The fixing of VOIP and the strong presence of TTP regulars will fix the teamplay issue, but right now, if the non-regs outnumber the regs, the non-regs turn the regs into non-teamplayers.

    Re: Leadership roles lacking...

I try to always spawn on players close to the Mcom or flag if possible.

What generally bites me is when I choose that person and hit enter right as they are killed. It then auto-spawns me in the last base. POS pisses me off sometimes, especially when my guys are needing all the help they can get.
