Thread: Problems with controls

I have a problem with ma controns in game that i cant seem to fix.

In a jet my arrows work to control the thing.
But when I jump into a chopper, I can just use the wsad buttons but my arrows wont work.

I knew they worked before, even reinstalled my game to fix it, but nothing.

Anyone knows how to fix this?

Just to be thorough ...

You've already checked under Options > Controls > Helicopter > Movement > Secondary that the Arrow Up/Down/Right/Left are listed, yes?

You've already selected Reset to Default, yes?

You know------I have similar problems with my joystick control ever since the latest patch. I have searched these forums and google and every option in settings and my joysyick won't fly any craft. I use a "Cyborg EVO" and it simply won't work.

So-------Any of you genius's out there who think that the sort of reply above my response is gonna help anyone, should maybe not respond to this post.

I welcome any REAL instruction on fixing these joystick issues and would appreciate any smacktard responses should be addressed to GaySnipe.

Oh yes-----please don't redirect me to some obscure link that has been hijacked multiple times. Just post the fix in this thread.

Actually, the response above was acceptable given the question wasn't about a joystick, but rather controls on a keyboard. Often times a simple solution to a problem is easy to overlook. Why don't you help with a response to an issue rather than busting someone's chops for trying to help out.

What doesn't work exactly? Is it the axis on joystick not working? Is it the buttons not working? Can you even map the controls with your joystick into BF2?

Not sure if you have tried the below, but may want to give this a try.

"Basically what EA did was they intigrated that FALCON peripheral into the game settings as default stick... This has caused alot of third party joystick to all of the sudden stop working .... And for me... since I had never used a stick prior to Falcon's integration... I didnt have the luxury of knowing if my hardware had worked prior to the issue.

To get around this... you go into the common control tab of the game and do a reset to default and click apply. Then you go to every control tab i.e. jet, helicopter, land vehicle, etc.... and delete anything that has to do with FALCON by clicking on the item and hit esc button. Ok... now that is out of the way... come back to each tab that you want to configure/setup the your own stick..... configure it into the secondary position. Having actually worked in customer service, you won't believe how many people simply forget to turn it on, or plug it in, or type abcdotcom!

Or are we just suppose to assume that you've taken all the basic steps to resolve the issue and haven't overlooked something and instead delve into the weeds and waste our time and your time trying to find some obscure cause?!

Dont know if it's going to help you but i had the same problem with my joystick when the patch came out. I had to reassign all of my controls for aircraft in the options tab to get it to work. Now if i can just get it to stop doing random bomb drops i'll be in there.

I checked the basic settings and such before I posted this thread.

It was a compability problem with anti cheat software from another game.

Never had this before so I didn't thought about it lol.
