*shrug* This is pretty much a non-issue in my opinion.

If VOIP was working people wouldn't be using outside voice servers. But since it isn't they are wanting to have some contact with their friends as they play the game.

I've been in various clan's TS or Vent servers when people have invited me there and the vast majority of the chat going on isn't all about strats and in-game coordination. Most of the chatter is about how Tom just epically knifed Harry and similar things. Ghosting isn't happening, the resident clans know better then to allow it to happen on their servers.

As for what other groups of people who might come on our servers are doing on their voice servers... who the hell knows... The admins would deal with it as they would in any other game if they catch it.

It is widely known that the use of a 3rd party voice communication in MOST games is a bannable offense on TTP. Us regs and residents know the rules, and i would HOPE most would follow...especially in CSS...


But for this game, for now, go ahead and do it. I get in with talkos and the SST crowd when I play, because they are cool, and everyone else is gay but seriously, dont ghost, I think we all know better....but when VOIP gets fixed in game, I sure as hell wont be on TS/Vent because it lags so bad anyways....

The way I see it, if in game VOIP is not working, you can use a Vent or TS (do NOT advertise it as TTP) as long as it is between people of the same team. If you aren't on the same team, or the in game VOIP is working, you better as hell not be using an external voice chat.

There is nothing wrong with being in vent/teamspeak on opposite sides of a game... Lots of us do it all the time.

Frankly, as long as there is no ghosting going on, it's really none of your business.

Maybe I mistunderstood what you were trying to say...this is what I gathered from the thread.

I know in game Voip is broken. I know We need to have a mode to communicate for our teamplay. I agree

however at times it makes me feel guilty unless we make it available to all players on the server. Make VoIP available, or TS/vent? and who's TS/vent?

secondly the DEVs do not allow dead communication in BC2. Any info spoken while dead is ghosting. strats spoken while dead is not using the VOIP as the devs intended. it also gives TTp players and unfair advantage over other players on the server. Communicating is a powerful tool it can unbalance a game severely if the other team has no communication So are you saying using a third party program allows for an unbalanced game?

in game voip works sometimes I try and use it everytime i play. other times its FUBAR. id like to try and use in game voip as much as we can.

cod4 did not allow the dead to see living text or speak with living. So when the admins on cod4 were playing SnD. The dead we were aware enough not to speak about in game information on TS so i know it can be done.

and lastly I'm no saying anyone is abusing outside comms or you should stop, just posting to players doing so to be aware of what and when things are spoken.

I second that.. Any resident clan folks from the BF2142 server playing BFBC2 want to share with me.. as I am tired of this broken VOIP crap and seriously considering going back to BF2142 full time again.

Ok, guys, I'm going to lock this one up. I think everyone gets this now. TTP does have teamspeak for admins to keep order. TTP Does not, and will not support expecting people to download a teamspeak program to communicate with their team. If you are ever caught ghosting using an external voice unit there will be consequences.

VoIP doesn't work in-game right now. Oh well, the admin tools arn't that great yet either. The code won't be broken because of a broken game.
