GOL/Magnum ammunition bug?

Is there a bug to the GOL or GOL + magnum ammo? I've gotten a few kills with it, but lots more times I'll be gently settled in on someone's unsuspecting melon, nice clean shot, and bang- nothing. It's like I'm shooting blanks!

But seriously, is something up with this? I've not have a similar problem with any of the other rifles. On paper, the GOL looks good, but I think I'm just going back to the M24 for a bolt rifle until I get the M95 unlocked.

I die quite regularly to the GOL so I would say its working fine...

The Gol has the best accuracy.

Shooting blanks is a BC2 bug, so that might be the problem.

My guns misfire rounds consistently for some reason. It's a shame too...makes me not enjoy playing as much.

Not sure if it's related, but I often shoot two rockets within about a half a second of each other (the second one is a blank) as an engineer. Like the game let's me shoot twice but only fires one rocket. It's possible that these bugs are related.

I've had this happen as well as my ump not going through the reload animation. It still reloads after the same amount of time, I just have to watch for it to be finished.
