    I will name names if I have to, but we lost Port Valdez tonight when attacking because half the team decided to sit on the hills and be sniper for the entire round. Never got past the first set of M-COMs. You know it's bad when your SL quits and starts a new squad because the other 2 people won't push forward at all then those two jokers lock their squad for the next few maps. When your entire team has < 16 people on it you can't win if you don't push, since the defenders have infinite tickets, shooting them off the buildings does nothing for the team.

    I had a round where it seemed my squad was the only one pushing. And the few snipers that called mortar strikes did them right on top of our heads. I go recon a lot but I roll shottie and c4. You have to push with all 16 players on some of the maps or you wont win.

    I just throw up an all chat and hope they get knifed, or get an admins attention. Sniping is good and effective but one or two covering the plant is good enough.

    well Xfire failed and I didn't get a screenshot, but in particular FrozenInferno and Boosteryu, who wear the [K2A] tag were the ones in my squad that more or less kept sniping even though the SL (who was [::VTRX::]BbHos) and I were pushing and we already had 3+ snipers for that round. Couldn't even call in the mortars, at least we could have weakened some buildings.

    Well recon is ok if you either really need snipers or if you are going to run inside and plant c4 all over the place.

    Were you in SOPEK's squad? Or were you on the other side? When my team was on defense the offense did a pretty good job, ended up with 1 final M-COM left before tickets ran out, although there were times where nobody were trying to kill the tanks and got frustrating. It's almost as if people forget defense has infinite tickets, you're not supposed to just camp your favorite shipping container just to stay alive.

    oh no it was last night when i was on, I love to c4 the mcom and arm it then run out and blow the defusers up when they run in.

    So many players just want to camp and try to get a high KD. I rush in have a .5 KD and sit atop the scoreboard, there are more ways to score points than just kills.

    :6 It's this simple play like a team if you are going to play on ttp. If you like to snipe be helpfull. If you are just for k/d ratio please play some were else. Texas TEAM players is for TEAM play. I will Team you later evilblackjack :4

    Evil - that sounds dirty. But in all honesty....lack of team play is not a sniper only thing. It is more obvious true, but try being one of the few true "team play" snipers that is almost always pushing the objective. What about all the assault and medic players flat out ignoring calls for supplies and/or healing. And forget revives. This is a long standing issue with BF games and "today's" players. They tend to be in it for the kills/points and not for the team play. Otherwise, that sniper who just got whacked running into the building to arm/defuse the m-com station would get revived instead of spawning someplace else while the medics stepped over his cold dead body.

    Snipers seem to always be people's favorite targets for the non-teamplay aspect of all games. However, they are not the only ones by any means. Just slightly more obvious. But, that is a player issue and not a class issue.

    Check stats on people identified as snipers and their "teamplay" scores (captures/defends/defuses/whatever). I am willing to be that those who are teamplayers, regardless of kit/class, have high scores in the aforementioned categories whether they snipe or not.

    With that said - Snipers that are flat out "camping" round after round should get a warning followed by a boot. Much like what we'd do for unsquadded or not following orders.

    Some people think they are being helpful by camping halfway across the map, but unless you are defending a station or flag, it is often not worth the time loitering with your big gun hanging out; the time it takes to pick off a couple of enemies chances are their team/squadmates have already respawned/revived and we've just lost a whole bunch of tickets because the sniping isn't supporting the real boots on the ground. This is more of an issue with attacking on Rush maps than anything else (in Conquest or Rush defense I would support long range snipers if the plan is to cause attrition).

    Which is a totally hilarious attitude to have, since I've been able to get way more points doing support roles than actually getting kills. If I'm resupplying an engineer (or recon or if I'm a medic, I've gotten a crapton of resupply, heal, and revive pins in a round; some rounds I've come out in 2nd place with a k:d of 5:20. The k:d ratio means squat if you're losing. It is helpful to remind pubbers that the first rule of TTP is to never talk about to win. It gets damned frustrating when you keep calling for AT but nobody actually makes any effort to blow up the tank that is about to kill the building with the M-COM in it, (which is totally asinine, since dying after blowing up said tank results in a way better strategic position to be in rather than trying to do something funky) or when you are losing tickets but nobody on the squad ever tries to revive anyone else on the squad even though a bunch of medic kits just got dropped from the last grenade spam. One of the more hilarious ones I've seen is this engy that I just recently resupplied trying to get their mine pin by trying to drop mines behind this tank; of course it results in total fail, and I have to pick up his kit and shoot the stupid RPGs myself.
