Question on mines

I figured out that mines do not discriminate one day because I was laying down mines to block a roadway, and a friendly tank drove over them and died. Certainly a surprise to me then...

If you're holding one and someone shoots or run over one you die, because all the mines you've laid detonate at the same time ( I think ) best thing is test and see what happens.

That depends on the server settings, friendly fire on or off.

Not true, only the mines in the proximity of the explosion detonate.

Everytime I see an enemy mine on my radar, I blow it up.

If I am not in armor, I may wait and see if the enemy is near one of the mines and then shoot it with my gun. The blast radius is always good to help force a TK

You will not die by running over a friendlies mines however should you be on/near a friendlies mine(s) and an enemy engages you that happens to disturb the mine you will most likely die from friendly mine blast before the enemy kills you resulting in a TK.
