EA had the log in servers down last night and all stats are missing this morning. Anybody in the know?

Re: EA problems?
It's never seemed like EA needed any extra time to screw up. Fixing the screwups is where they test my patience.
I was hoping to play tonight. Does anyone have any info or a link to a status page? Was there an announcement or press release?
What's this about a datacenter move? Isn't that the sort of thing that a large, competent, corporation plans for a year, works on for months, and tests extensively before (at a moment statistically identified as the least likely to annoy me) they flip a virtual switch causing a break in service measured in 10s of milliseconds which goes unnoticed by the vast majority of their clients?
Absent any real knowledge, could someone here at least speculate wildly?
Cheers,
AetheLove

I got multiple announces, due to having multiple gamespy/fileplanet/d2d accounts at least a week ago. Also it appeared that the server admins (WileCyte et al) got them also. They posted an announce to the bf2 forums about week ago. SEE http://www.teamplayergaming.com/show...er-Maintenance http://blogs.battlefield.ea.com/batt...d-bf-2142.aspx

ok more info:
The server that holds the information about ranks and stats looks like it's offline.
Here's the evidence:
Not only are ranks and unlocks broken, but on most map or round changes, I've been getting kicked all the way back to the login screen, with the error "Error reading from server", which appears to be getting triggered when the round ends and the game tries to post the score to the stats server and can't. Because the stats server is linked to the login server, the login server thinks everything is broken and kicks you out to prevent hacking. On top of that, most likely as another anti-hacking measure, it invalidates my gfx cache and causes the next round to "reoptimize" the map entities all over again.
Now, personally, I don't mind losing ranks/unlocks but the constant kicking back to login screen and losing the entity cache is damned annoying.

we were getting jacked all night long in 2142. I got disconnected from the master server 4x in the space of 30 minutes. Others were getting DC'ed just as rapidly.
Remember the mantra in the 2142 world...... "EA hates you!"
