Re: Operation Blue Peral
For Blue Pearl, couldn't you institute some sort of map-specific rule that China can't leave until US gets a flag? Obviously, not everyone would follow it, but probably just enough wouldn't to give the US some resistance without completely screwing their chances at getting on land.

Re: Operation Blue Peral
Nope, if we make an exception to one map. Then many more people would want them. We play how the game was meant to be played. Total war!!!! Blue Peral, is a map that challenges your team teamwork, communication, effort, sacrifice. Good hunting soldier...

Re: Operation Blue Peral
I tell my squad most of the time when I'm on the Chinese side to let them get a flag as it is boring as fuck shooting boats and APC's and getting artyed because the players are bunching up at temple or market.....Why don't we as SL's have an unspoken rule to notify our SM's to let them get a flag maybe two so that everyone will enjoy that map.
Had more fun on the 2nd OBP last night when we let you on land and we beat your sorry asses by 1 and your highest kill scorer was a frikkin' sniper.

Re: Operation Blue Peral
The US gets screwed by the idiots that think they are going to take Harbor Office at the beginning of the map. Just knock that shit off,and concentrate on the two EASY flags to get,and the US should get to shore every time.
Get in a boat or APC,and head DIRECTLY to either Market or Temple....do no pass go,do not collect $200. Just fucking go straight to one of those two flags. The map is designed to favor the US.....if they head to Temple, they will get there slightly ahead of the Chinese. Squadleaders, stay on the water (East) side of Temple, and send their squadmates to the flag.......and Snipers can be EXTREMELY helpful with a defensively placed claymore between the flag and the SL. Get a foothold.....take Temple....THEN play around with Harbor Office....you won't have A/T guys competing to kill you from the shore.
As for Market......Get your SL inside one of the buildings, and put clays in both doorways to protect him. Squadmates to the flag. Market can be a little tougher than Temple, but is just as important to hit right off the bat,and the US has a 50/50 shot at getting it first. The prize for the US getting Market first is the tank.

Re: Operation Blue Peral
i'm no obp fan either but dex is right. the biggest problem with this map is lack of focus and leadership. SL's need to head straight to temple and SM's need to man up and join those squads quickly. Once temple is under control this map can be fun.
no hope for terrible quandry, map rage & shit screen. wastes of time.
ps - even though i said dix was right, really i'm right and he just posted it first. dix is never right unless he agrees with me.Last edited by (2)manno; 10-21-10 at 11:03 AM.

Re: Operation Blue Peral
Blue Pearl's a great map. Just get the US SL's to go to Market or Temple, whichever one their boat is closer to while their squads hold spawn. The extra 6 seconds it takes to pick up the people who spawn in instead of on green can cost them the game. Once they land, it's good to have a sniper or two to drop some clays and then a follow up arty by the commander if it's available. As long as the US has 1 objective flag, they should be good to go. Even if are unable to cap the flag, the fight for a landing can be a great test of coordination and teamplay. Have all the SL's with APC's and nearly all the boats land at 1 of the two flags immediately after an arty strike while a couple of boats with 1 or 2 guys going towards the other flag as a distraction. The timing of the arty strike is very important; going in right after one has been the only way I've ever been able to land a boat at temple as US during one of these situations. The key is to the US even having a chance at victory if they lose the initial battle is to ALWAYS HOLD SPAWN until the SL's have landed. The US side can't spare any tickets on 1-shot 6 man boat kills.
