While I agree that the current system for it sucks, they could definitely implement a system that made spotting some type of disadvantage, like requiring the spotter to pull out binoculars to spot an enemy, and making some requirement upon visualizing an enemy before they were 'spotted' (I have no idea what that would be but its just an idea). If you took the time to put down your weapon simply to spot out an enemy sniper, he should be spotted for your teammates.

Spots that last 10 seconds and just only provide the "Last Spotted Location"

This would be OK. My biggest issue is the spot follows them and stays up entirely too long. Might also help to only be available to the people in your squad as opposed to the entire team.

Or Only Soldiers within Audible Range/ Com Channel. Seems as though at this point they would just incorporate it into the game Auto-functioning much like the COM Rose turned auto.
