Vent's not acceptable for a TPG server. This is battlefield, you need VoIP.

I know it has one, and it's doesn't really say "TPG" to me.
I'm pretty sure we never even considered games for hosting if they didn't have VoIP. This game has been out for too long not to have VoIP.

BC2 gets chaotic enough in TS with only 16 players per team (and we've never had all 32 players be on TS at once). It will NEVER work for BF3 with 64 players. If VOIP isn't functional out of the box, it won't get a foothold at TPG. The ONLY reason BC2 was brought back WITH TS was because we already had a large established base of users who bought BC2 under the assumption that VOIP worked.

Ok, if VoIP doesn't work then I'll happily host a mumble server for BF3. I was actually coming over here to create a thread about the new announcements but FEED beat me to it, imagine that. Anyways, I'm extremely excited. I think this game will be popular regardless of VoIP capabilities out of the box. I know that I'm more excited for gaming in 2011 than I have been in a long time.
The details are all strong implications that this is being built for PC gamers by PC gamers. Maps have to be pretty freakin' big for jets to stretch their legs, servers usually have to be dedicated for 64 players and I'm sure that our missing kits will be making re-appearances with prone. This is the sequel to BF2... BC2 was just the red headed step child of Battlefield 2 (Heroes being it's retarded cousin). I guess that makes 2142 a younger brother something.
I'm excited for this game.

I wouldn't expect any larger teams or maps for this release if they are shooting for higher graphics and more destructible environments than BC2... I expect everyone to have to upgrade their machines to be able to comfortably play the game even where it stands now. Just think of a higher base requirement than BC2 and throw in double the players and 3x or 4x the map size (to accommodated jets) and you got one choppy game for any upper mid range machine.
