Install Order

If it's the CD version:

1.41 > 1.5 > Alt/Tab Hotfix (fixes the CTD you get when you have your AA Maxed in your Game Video Options and then try to Alt/Tab out of the game).

If it's the DVD version:

Install BF2....when it asks you if you would like to re-start now....say NO. It will then install the rest (SF,EF,and the 1.41) after a pause. Just let it roll...
Then you will need to install the 1.5 patch (try getting the 1.5 here ).
Then Apply The Alt/Tab Hotfix

For Steam....You shouldn't have to do anything,but if you are crashing or freezing,disable the Steam Overlay.

* Download the attached file
* Extract it into your Battlefield 2 install directory (you must have v1.50 installed already)
* When prompted accept that you want to over write the existing file
* In My Documents go to Battlefield 2\mods\bf2 and delete the cache directory
* Run BF2 as normal

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Right click on the BF2 shortcut on desktop and click properties, set your admin privileges to full control for bf2 and make sure you have "run as administrator" checked.

I got this from Draco in a PM. My mouse wheel seemed to work for everything except when trying to scroll through the menus and player/map lists in-game.

Interestingly, while I was investigating this (as mine haven't worked either), I tried to edit the lines manually and afterwords I couldn't use the mouse cursor in-game. I had to replace my BF2 .con with my 2142 .con (set up exactly the same), and then it worked, so save a copy of the file elsewhere before you make the changes just in case.

It seems 1.5 changes those lines to use the Novint Falcon, but then doesn't re-add the requisite mouse entries back.
