XP is a reliable os yes more people are moving over to win 7 but when you look at the price of win 7 people just can't afford that...

Windows still give support to XP but not as much with a direct x 9 stand point....

But also you got to think this Crysis 2 and possibly RAGE has and or possibly willl make xp compatible... DICE just wants to flex frostbytes muscles way to much..... But I might be speaking too soon because they did claim it will be on PS3 and 360 which isn't strong but runs like a champ... But what dice says is probly going to hurt more than succeed
What bugs? Win 7 is the most stable OS around. Dude, what are you talking about.

I went from mac to pc BECAUSE of W7. Stable and easy, plus super versatile.

I love having win7 on my laptop, just been to lazy* to upgrade my desktop.
Probably upgrade or do a whole new build later this year.

*not patient enough to download all my games at 50k...

Use the game backup tool or move your steamapp folder onto a backup drive.

there is also a post in the hardware forum by HeavyG, I believe, that talks about using symbolic links to move certain portions of the steam games library to another drive. I gave the link to RobJ earlier. I can look it up if you need it.

I symlink the steamapps folder to a second larger hard drive. My system OS resides on a tiny 60GB SSD. Steamapps folder is the folder you want. Then you can run verify game files on any game that still has files hidden else where.

    OMFG ROFL!!!

That literally cracked me up. I got a funny look from a coworker and quickly minimized the forums for a minute.

In all seriousness what if BF2 had the same decision made for it? The damn thing is old enough and still surviving, thank god it wasn't built for every OS we were using back then. If this game has even half of the longevity that BF2 did then I think it should go without question that the latest and greatest should be the primary choice.

Also, I checked a week ago for a friend and noticed that Vista and Win7 are just about the same price. The only one MORE expensive was XP... now that's kind of funny too.
