Regular or Harcore
I'm not a fan of hardcore. I find that it forces players to camp due to one shot kills and lack of hud. I also miss being able to spot enemies.
What's your opinion?

I've cried about this many times to no avail, I think us non-hardcore players are doomed to wander the the uncharted waters of servers that offer regular or ORIGINAL gameplay.

Re: Regular or Harcore
Regular sucks ball sack. If you need a map up on your screen at all times, spotting scopes, etc...you need to quit playing with the big boys. There are kid servers for that, go play there.
Hardcore FORCES the essence of teamplay out in EVERYONE! You can not rely on a map up on your screen at all times. If you need to look at a map, you need to stop, take cover, and pull up your map. If you see a tank, infantry, chopper, fast mover, etc, you HAVE to call it out, and the direction said object is moving, and how many there are. It forces players to focus more on the game play, and where thier team is. It forces players to check in periodically, calling out where they are, what they see, etc.
Hardcore also stops people from just running around like idiots. With the bullets actually doing damage, people think twice about just running around. They communicate with thier squads, build an objective, and execute with percision.
If you never see any of this, I feel sorry for you. Come to my squad sometime, and I will show you the Gold Squad badge
GOLD SQUAD! GOLD SQUAD!

Re: Regular or Harcore
From my experience hardcore inhibits teamplay. Case in point, when someone goes down everyone in the vicinity hunkers down and camps for fear of being seen going to the aid of a fallen team mate. I was on the server last night and it was all about watching your own ass. You can't tell where the fire is coming from so you just hide and wait fro the other side to blow their cover.
Concerning the hud, BF2 proved how essential it was to teamplay. The ability to set markers and spot enemies kept the squad focused.

Re: Regular or Harcore
I really hope your experience wasnt with TPGers...becaue TPGers NEVER hunker down, we will always revive, live or die...we do our best. Even my team, you will always hear me preaching more medics, because you get tickets back on every revive...I think you are looking at this all wrong. You think because there is no map, everyone does what they want. Im tellin you because of no map, you have to communicate more. Come play with me sometime
You will see
And there arnt "markers" in BC2 like BF, we have objective markers, but thats it. And my squad always uses them.
And moving, you never get gold squad with me cuz you bring down my squads average

Regular.
Its leans more toward the name of teamplayer. Hardcore leans more towards every man for himself.

regular makes a more cohesive game. There's a difference between having to move carefully because of a damage increase and dying every time someone in your zip code throws a grenade.
