The dual core Athlon II may be the biggest culprit because your GPU should be able to give you PLENTY of horsepower to drive 1280x720 at 60+ fps. Bad Company 2 is the first game where having a quad core really makes a HUGE difference.

I can attest to this. Could barley run the game on my Athlon 64X2 4200 but runs great on my sons 64x4 with a GTX450, everything on high.

Well. Processors are one of the only things I haven't installed in a computer yet. Are they difficult and how much does a good one cost?

And even with that being said. I still have the problem with the game not wanting to go full screen.

They're not too difficult to install... Remove heatsink, lift lever on the socket, remove processor, place new processor, apply new heatsink. They 'key' the processor so you know which way it goes in.

Taking into consideration what you have currently, you can spend anywhere from $99-$190 for an AMD Quad Core CPU. You can spend $180-230 on a Hex (6) core. I've got the Phenom II X4 955 and that runs about $140. Great bang for the buck, and I'm able to run BC2 on high at 1680x1050 and have no performance issues. I've got a bit beefer graphics card than you do, but since you're running a lower resolution, you should be fine.
