SV98, M1911, Lightweight, C4, Magnum Ammo, and Warheads.
9 time out of 10 I will have C4 on me. I am normally right next to Tanks and the like, so, C4 is mush easier and faster than mortar. Pretty much the only reason I have mortar is when I am attacking on a Rush map.

I think bf3 is gonna be the host for the biggest lan partys since quake. big comps! with some serious money!. you should seek out where were and how getting your foot in the door early will pay dividends. hell if was up to me Id send you to where-ever to game under the tpg banner, whats a few hundreds bucks for a plane ticket and entry fees.
online comps are a joke. CAL and cevo showed us that. riddled with acusations of cheaters brought manys matchs to end before they statred. I think lan's will come back with the hype of bf3 there will be some interest for a the frist few years im sure.
IMHO if your serious about taking your hobby to the bank youll have to seek out good players/servers. Have you seen your score here? 2,3 to 4 times the average its just a bright becaon screaming for a challege.
anyways I may curse you and call Hax, but id be hopful and happy for you to do well in the professional arena.

Re: For anyone intrested...
I am definitely waiting on BF3 to get here. I will be looking into going to some LAN's. I would gladly support TPG along the way. Only time will tell for BF3. In the Alpha, it was even worse.
I used to play in the online comps. As you stated, they always had a problem with hackers and scheduling. I played in many for MOH:AA.
Honestly, I don't think there are many servers that have a constant set of competition like TPG does. I play on other servers from time to time but I am normally removed quickly or leave due to the camping nature of most players. My biggest thing is someone watching my back. I can't stand when I get killed or knifed from behind when the ENTIRE team is directly behind me.
I would love to get back into that scene. I know it has changed since the 10+ years ago that I was in it for a short period. I would also need a team. I don't think I couldn't do much by myself. I do appreciate the confidence.

True LAN competitions will be dependent on EA/DICE releasing server code to the public. With BC2, the only people who have the server code are ranked server providers. Otherwise any competition will be to an internet server... defeating the purpose of the LAN as a whole. After QuakeCon this year, it sorta defeats the purpose of a true LAN competition.

Re: For anyone intrested...
I'm with you on a lot of that, Party...
I am fiercely competitive. I've done a little bit of the competetive scene online in CSS and in various LAN events for TF2, quake, Unreal, warcraft, starcraft, command and conquer (DON'T ANSWER THAT PHONE!) etc... Generally I can hold my own, but the pros put me to shame. I would love to get more involved with the competitive scene again, but generally my schedule does not allow for match times. Nor do I really have the time or desire to spend my night practicing as much as the pros do.
I hear you about having to occasionally hold back as well, though to a much lesser extent from my side, I'm sure. On most public servers and even on the TPG servers I occasionally get called a cheater. Normally I don't mind and actually take it as a compliment. When it comes from a longtime reg and someone I consider a friend though, it is a bit saddening. I bet some still think I mousewheel in Call of Duty... Which is somewhat ridiculous and was pretty disappointing to hear about. There isn't much I can do outside of sitting him down next to me and having him watch me play that can really prove otherwise either... Mostly because I just don't like even a shadow of a doubt on the legitimacy of my gaming to be on the minds of friends, I will eventually prove to Pote that I just play with the default keybinds. I spent the last month or so of my game time in CoD using only automatic weapons or deliberately shooting slowly just stop the accusations.
I wouldn't say I was even near the same level as play as you are though, so I can only imagine how it is for you. You definitely have some great muscle memory and the quick reactions necessary for the high end pro gaming scene. I wish you the best of luck man. I hope to see you in some competition feeds in the future.

I can't use the default keys. No one could use my keys. Here is an example of my set up: A=Forward, Z=Backwards, CAPS=Left Strafe, Shift=Right Strafe. The rest I don't really remember it is just automatic. As far as being called out, I bet I am called out on a daily basis. Whether jokingly or seriously. Some are from regs but mostly from pubbers. It is hard to get a server primed when a player is on that just frustrates people. I try to take it easy. I know most have seen me venture into different kits here lately. Trying to become an all around player. I guess I still need work on the whole medic thing.
I will just have to wait and see what will come up for BF3. If the alpha is any indication, it is more to my play style than BC2 is. Maybe get into a few tournaments here and there. Need a good team though. It isn't just me. I know most have heard me frustrated from time to time about people watching the box or whatever.

EA hires various game server companies to be their ranked providers. They have very specific requirements as to how the server is configured. We've used Hypernia and GameServers for our ranked server providers (2142, BF2, BC2, etc). For BC2, the server files are not available to the general public, so the only place you can get a server is from the ranked providers. For TPG to have a match server, we'd have to either convert our public server to a match server (by placing a password on it) or we'd need to purchase another BC2 server. In the past with 2142 or BF2 we could just throw up an unranked instance on one of our dedicated game servers and not have to take down our existing servers or purchase additional servers to host matches. The explanation by EA/DICE was it was for 'security purposes'. Security by obscurity isn't very effective as the number of hacks available for the game are countless, as witnessed by our ever growing ban list for hackers and the plethora of bans in PBBans.
At QuakeCon, partly because of how they setup the LAN, but mainly because there was PLENTY of bandwidth to the internet... most folks played on TPGs regular servers rather than those hosted on the LAN itself. So sure, you're sitting next to the guy you're fragging, but you're also fragging people who aren't there. True LAN parties are completely self-contained. Back in the day, I used to go to LAN parties hosted by friends. We'd have 20 or so of us crammed into someone's house/apartment. We'd play games for 2 days straight fueled by pizza and Mountain Dew. We'd play Quake2 CTF or Unreal or some other multiplayer game. Sure we could play normally over the internet, but there's something about being in the same room/house as everyone. You can take taunting to a new level.
