Re: the bc2 server from a new guy
We need the auto balance to be effective. Usually the losing side stuck at spawn leaves the server, 5-10 minutes later the server moves the winning gold squad over to the loosing side. Useless balance when games last 20-30 minutes or less.
Did I mention the lack of an effective auto-balance kills the server.

Re: the bc2 server from a new guy
Well auto balance would be quicker, 5 minutes is not a just a game changer but server killer.
I've switched prior to being switched, because of the lagging auto-balance. It's not everyone who will want to switch to the please rap me side. I also don't often notice that the losing side is 5 to 7 players short until it's to late. I'm assuming nor do the admins.Last edited by jakt; 09-07-11 at 01:32 PM.

Re: the bc2 server from a new guy
You can only switch so often. Like once every 2 or 3 maps. Also, you can not switch if the there are too few tickets.
One minute they will have a full team. 30 secs later, you will have 6 rage quitters and it is lopsided. It is more of the problem of people quitting because it gets tough. Isn't that the point? Personally, I like being on the losing side as long as people work together and aren't camping the spawn. I don't mind losing a fighting fight. But, when I have 20+ deaths and the next guy has 6, there is a problem.

Re: the bc2 server from a new guy
Well, having a lopsided team due to player count is one thing, but having a lopsided (stacked) team due to skill is something else. I was referencing the stacks I have been noticing lately. Even yesterday as a dozen or so of us tried to stay in to keep the server alive(as it was dying), the stack was just too much. Rank 20's and a 30 versus all rank 50s on the winning team is stacked. I left shortly after that, because a full map of getting completely destroyed was enough for me. Usually it's not too bad, but there are plenty of TeamSpeak Team versus Shitty Team nights....

Re: the bc2 server from a new guy
Yes, there are. And there's no good way to fix this, thanks to EA. There are limits to switching from one team to another, as already mentioned, and there's no real way for admins to switch players, either.
So, basically, if the teams start out stacked, they'll stay that way for a while.
And, as mentioned, if the teams have the same number of players, the stupid programming ALWAYS adds the newest player to the winning team."A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed."

Re: the bc2 server from a new guy
BC2 is not a great balanced FPS, and hardcore does not help at all either. w/hardcore its easy to get where just 1or 2 people can unbalance a game easy.
Lack of a spec mode makes it hard for admins to really judge whos doing what. you can see what happen a the end of a game more clearly. rush attack, 22-0 yeah that guy should be see the banned forums to talk about just how he understands server rules and or if he even wants to game ona a TPG style server.
alot of our new bc2 regs wouldnt last very long on our bf2 server, let alone one minute on CSS.
