Ive never used the Extra Ammo perk, Does it add longer magazine, or more of them?

I'm like Partyball. I find that having LW pack really helps out, and if your good enough as Recon, you don't really need the extra zoom. Besides, higher zoom is more of a detriment than a help in my opinion, because it screws you over with any range that isn't long range.

I disagree. Once you get "comfy and cozy" with the crosshair position on the screen when you're not scoped it makes quick scoping and drag shooting much easier. Pop in at any range and you're almost already on target.

Well, I always use the default zoom for my rifle, because for me, it's much easier to shoot close to mid-range with that. And I'm mostly close to mid-range when I play Recon. I'm comfortable with the cross hairs with the scope already, but for me, I just use default. It just seems that you have a wider perspective of the battlefield with the default scope. The 12X zoom scope makes me feel like I have a really bad case of tunnel vision.

Lightweight pack and SV98 / SV98 Short are both pretty awesome. I like most of the sniper rifles but the short is probably my favorite, it's silenced, accurate and semi-automatic.
