Re: Q&A With Daniel Matros Community Manager @ Dice
You all cry when DICE got rid off commander because its a feature that promotes teamwork, but when DICE gets rid off dumb bombs are switches to A2G missiles and/or smart bombs that require more team play instead of one player constantly bombing everything you complain.
Bf2 players need to stop living in a fantasy world,bf2 was great for its time but its a game that sounds better on paper then it actually plays. Its battlefield 3 not battlefield 2.5.Not saying Im happy with no commander,or health/armor regen or 4 man squads but you need to stop looking at bf2 as the perfect battlefield game.Last edited by PvtPrivate; 09-24-11 at 01:09 PM.

From the Allane posted, the lack of "dumb bombs" doesn't sound that bad (since the stuff in there instead is what is currently used). It does feel like a bit of a copout still to solving the Jet problem but oh well.
The auto regeneration of Armor though is just ugh, if it was at 75-80% and above I could live with it, as one to just assume its minor repairs (and mainly to speed up something that'd be mundane to begin with). No commander is a major loss, Could I live without it? Probably but the game will lose some of its more strategicness to me. Granted I can see why it might of been removed (its really a rarely used feature I'll bet you in most servers that don't enforce teamplay). Health regen is another that will bug me, again its one of those you might be able to sell me on if it was at low levels (i.e. again when at 75-80% health) but not full on (what it sounds like it will be). The medpack was better then that, even if having a medic have to hold it then spamming packs all over would be better (imo).
4 man squads aren't too big of an issue, they aren't ideal, but I think they could work with a commander (of course there is none). I think of 4-man squads as more specialized strike teams then a squad, like sending a small anti-air squad to go take out a jet, or a small spec-op squad to destroy enemy coms, etc. Six felt a bit more like a squad, even though its only 2 more people but still. Without a commander not sure how 4 man squad will work. Even with a comm channel (not sure if there is or isn't one), how will you get a enough of a picture to figure out exactly what you need? Some will be easier to figure out then others but still.

In other news seems like AMD wasn't going sit down, and be out done by Nvidia. They are also releasing drivers for the upcoming BF3 Beta as well.
