When you start you only have guns in the jet until you unlock others. Have you unlocked anything else?

if you haven't unlock anything yet, then you only have a flying railgun

once you unlock missiles, you have to press 2 to use them, and 1 again to get back to railgun.

In BF3 you have to actually unlock stuff. Tons of great stuff. They don't just give it to you. It actually makes me want to try new vehicles and vehicle/combo for specific situations. Not stupid at all...

people cried in BF2 that jets and choppers were overpowered (shouldn't they be? it's a freaking jet / attack chopper for fuck sake), so that's what we got. I find it kind of disapointing, and you know that I'm not an air-whore.

Chopper are somewhat decent once you get used to the rocket random deviation, and the fact that it takes more than your 14 initial rockets to destroy a tank.

I didn't invest enough time into jets to comment about those, but they seem to be only effective against choppers and other jets.... they do have ATG missiles as an unlock, but I have no idea how much damage it does, and how long it takes to reload.

Choppers can be very beastly with a gunner. You can take out any vehicle with just the gunner and no need for rockets. Combine the two and you can easily frag a tank with a single pass.

Heres my issue with this. In bf2 you get unlocks when you get promoted. I assume at this point it remains true for bc3. That being said it took effort to get promoted in bf2 because it took forever to get points. BC3 however that is not the case seeing as there are already officers in a 2 week old game. So i have to say it does seem stupid.

not stupid from the point of view of someone, like you or me, who got their hands on the game on the release date, when nobody had anything unlocked. I guess someone who just bought the game and find himself with nothing more than a railgun against two guys who might have been jet whoring since day one will find this game design choice kind of stupid.

As I said numerous time, by putting hours into flying, you already get an incredible advantage against other, less experienced player : Skill. I do not think that, on top of that, you should be rewarded with perks they don't have access to beat them up even more easily

The unlock system for firearms and vehicles is worlds above BF2 with a shit ton more content and items, which allows for a helluva a lot more customization for the individual and team. Stop posting and play the game.
