    Welcome ....

It takes a few days to get the hang of things here. Stick with some of the regs and they will share some insight..

Make sure to use TS3 and get to know everyone..

Welcome back "bendude". Ah BC2...always be moving. Keep your head on swivel. If you think you have found a good "spot" move on it likely has been found and will catch a nade or rpg sooner rather than later. Push flags and arm/disarm mcoms.

What worked for me to elevate me out of the gaming gutter of ass rape was, learn the maps, learn the maps followed by some more learning of the maps. Like Al said, when you think you have found a good spot.... thats about the time you realize, some one else figured that out already, and they kindly let you know with a bullet fired from your next good spot.

After the topography classes, its on to figuring out the style of the enemy which you face. A kick ass team is a fine balance of sneaky bastards mixed with in your face and force feed you some lead berzerkers. Some nights, depending on my mood, i will face the berzerkers with wild abandon, other nights, its out sneak the sneaky bastards..... you'll find which one your more adept at as you play. Its a tough server to learn on. My first round ever i thought i did ok with a .81 KDR. By the end of the second week playing hard core i was like .58. Not that KDR is any standard to live by, its just part of many that make the player, and best for illustrating the point here.

    Re: New to BC2 D:

I'm new at BC2 but the concept isn't really that hard. On the Flag control maps, play flag control; I see a lot of teams I am on get over zealous, over reach and pretty soon they don't have any flags. Then the problems really begin. You will notice that a lot of players don't pay attention to flag points blinking and going neutral, they are after that all important kill. At that point your best bet is to do your best to fight for flags and verbally abuse the team into submission about the importance of flag control.

On to the Rush side of BC2; this is even harder, because half the team thinks it's cool to sit up in da hills and play sniper. Don't get me wrong, a good sniper is worth something in this game. Unfortunately too many snipers means not enough grunts on da ground actually defending the MCOM's or pushing/attacking the MCOM's. Essentially, the MCOM's are the most important part of Rush, because if you don't attack and take them out, you LOSE. Conversely, if you don't defend them properly, you will get pushed back and you can only give up so much ground before you LOSE.

In case you haven't figured it out by now. I don't like to LOSE.

I know I'm not be the best or the most awesome BC2 guy on the server, but I know what it takes to WIN.

One final note of caution; too much chatter in TS can have a negative effect on game play, but no chatter is absolutely HELL.

To add a couple thoughts.... First, get on the TS as suggested before. On there find yourself some regulars, and don't be shy about asking for tutoring, most of us enjoy helping new players and making new friends become regulars.

Second, find the weapon/kit that works best for you and your play style, learn it well, and then experiment with various other weapon/kit loadouts. Doing this will assure you of being able to survive and thrive, as well as be an asset to the team.

Last, forget kill counts. Yes, they are fun to get, but they won't win the game all by themselves. Go for objectives (flags and MCOMMS), throw down ammo or health boxes for your team to find. Do these things and you will enjoy the game infinitely more than stumbling around trying to be a zero hero.

Welcome aboard, hope to see you in game.
