Had that problem yesterday. Figured out I was getting some packet loss, once I reset my modem it was fine again.

    Re: Caspian Border OPEN

just played a couple hours and in my opinion if you play Caspian on a decent server (I was just on the TX one and had zero lag) and have some moderately capable squadmates the game is incredible. It's everything I hoped for in a TRUE bf2 sequel. (if they get voip working)

the sheer size of the map and the squad gameplay mechanics make the game orders of magnitude greater than anything you saw in BC2. After playing this map i will no longer compare the game to BC2, they have nothing in common on a conquest map.

Vehicles are awesome (crappy driving might throw you out of the vehicle) tanks are superb but not so OP that a competent squad can't take them down. Capping flags has never been this much fun.

Taking Antannae is so much fun! there is a road separating a little fort area with a lighthouse from the rest of the map and if attaking from the other side of the road, there is all kinds of cover and opportunity to set up mobile spawn points close to the action. then when squads start moving across the street to assault the site it's absolute chaos and the best squad will come out on top.

I am having so much fun on this map i can't even believe it. If you are a hater, play this map and it will probably change your mind about the game (though voip is down and you are definitely right in being mad about that)

Minus the small bouts of lag encountered I really liked it. Chopper controls seem to be a little different than the ones in bc2, spawned in a jet but didn't know how to fly it yet. Tank and Apc were both fun, I'm really looking forward to the 25th as long as the lag smooths out.

I got my ass handed to me. Anyone who ever played BF2 or 2142 with me knows I am not exactly a 2:1 or even a 1:1 KDR player but I try hard and die gloriously doing my best to support my team.... but going 2 and 12?

I think my problem was I was lost and not sure which way to even look and when I DID look the right way I had issues picking out people in the distance. I MIGHT have my resolution set too high. Everything was so small (compared to most other FPS games)

That said, playing with a squad that could use VoIP that could help orient and teach would make a world of difference.

This happens with BC2 as well. I still sometimes get 2/12 in BC2 Rush. I know 11BravoPathfinder was getting that when he started playing BC2 because of not knowing the maps. Now he is a completely annoying sniper motherfucker. So it will happen with you, just keep playing. Also, join a squad with someone like Partyball or wait until he frapses his rounds, then you will learn how to spot and do stuff you didn't know before. In BF3 you will get more clues like scope lens flare/laser/flashlight to detect people with.

Just stick with it. Bravo is a good example. Bravo was learning the maps and what not at the beginning. Now that he has learned them, he is annoying to deal with. This was just a month ago that he started. As SirMoo said, follow someone around that has the same play style as you and learn from them. Some people are good at holding down a position, others are good at being always on the move. Just have to find the one you want to do and stick with it.

I can record more rounds if people want to see them. I normally record my rounds and watch them from time to time to see what I missed. It helps quite a bit. It also tells me when I am starting to develop a pattern and I need to change it up. I know hardly anyone would go to that extreme, but it is just something I have done since I was a kid. Maybe, one day, I can get another sponsor. Too bad PC gaming on the competitive side is pretty much gone.
