Havent read thru this whole thread but, couldnt TPG just host a Mumble server and you could get in game and then alt+tab to Mumble and put yourself in the correct team channel? Horrible that that has to be resorted to though...BF2 system+positional audio I would have thought would have been first on the list when compiling a list of what needed to be in BF3...

@Shooty - For Bad Company 2 we have a TS3 server and have a plugin that will auto-switch you to the right channel. We're hoping it will work with BF3 with little to no effort.

I believe TS has the capabilities of doing so, I remember squad shifting being talked over by BC2 admins.

The plugin for BC2 was designed so that it could break up the teams into squads where squad members will only be able to talk with squad members. This is very likely to occur with BF3 as 32 people in one channel is going to be rather chaotic.
