BF3 Client Side Technical Problems & Useful Information

Anyone else having problems with BF3 campaign mode? Mine crashes every time in the 1st level, right when the it says use "ctrl-left" to sprint. It's really odd though, when I'm running down the alley, it only crashes right when I cross a barrel thats on fire. If i hang out before the barrel its fine, but when I run past it....thats when it crashes.

I've been posting in this thread regarding all the crash issues people are experiencing. The good news is that most of them are very similar if not the same.

I heard ATI users (at the moment) should not update to the most recent version as it has issues yet to be fixed; I have NVidia so I cannot confirm this.

Do you think I will have issues running the game? I was able to play the Beta with minor issues. The only thing I am worried about is the videocard/drivers. I am currently using the Catalyst 11.9 drivers. I have heard talk about the 11.10 beta drivers being better. Can someone explain the reasoning behind that to me? Thanks.

I think you'll be fine if you leave off some of the lavish effects and post processing. the game will look incredible anyways. you're card is a little weaker than some of the more modern ATI cards but you have a solid build otherwise; game should run well for you

Thanks and yeah. Maybe if I overclock the GPU? My last XFX HD5770 fried in about a year when I had it overclocked. Plus they lied and said that I had 1Gb of Video RAM. But obviously a bit less.

Something I noticed is that the BF3 server does not yet show up on the left side of the TPG site under "Game Servers". Don't forget this!

yeah the Gametracker banner/monitors take a little bit to get put up. The Highs are on it though I am certain.

I'm having an issue: I can't play the game.

I join a server and all I get is a wonderful black screen. No sound.

i5 2500k @ 4.4GHz 8GB ram gtx570 with the very latest drivers, win7 x64 sp1 with latest hotfixes. I'm using google chrome too.
