    Knifing

Can anyone explain what the issue with knifing is? I must have missed 3-4 times last night. Was close enough, as far as I could tell, saw blood, but no death and wind up getting killed. What's the deal? Is it that buggy?

Need to hit from behind for instant kills. Front attacks take 3 to 4 swipes. Of course there are times this does not work....buggy game.

After 2142 and BC2 the knife kill action in BF3 is HARD!!! and inaccurate. It seems to me that the only sure approach is from the back, any other way is hit or miss, miss, miss...

So my solution/suggestion... shoot first, then knife the corpse.

ok - must be the buggyness then as each of the attempts last night I started behind the "victim" - would see blood, then they would turn and blast me as I was attempting the knife swipe again or finishing the first animation.

    Kinda frustrating.

Yea if you don't see the knifing animation best to flip to your gun and shoot.

Get closer. You have to be about 2 ft for a guaranteed knife. In the front I pistol a few rounds first.

    Re: Knifing

If they are on a mortar it will not be a one strike knife attack. I think if they are repairing a vehicle, it may make it more difficult to knife them as well.

We need less people knifing anyways. Can't tell you how many times I've been shot and then milliseconds later I see my attacker get knifed by a teammate. Was I just baited? Maybe or maybe not, but more than likely if my teammate just shot the fucker, I'd still be up.

ok thanks - I'll give that a try. I guess seeing blood, even from the back, is not conclusive. Shame but kinda standard at this point.

the mortar folks I just headshot

As for less knifing - I don't make a habit out of it (never have and some of the 2142 discussions about tag whores where epic) but if I come up behind someone and attempt the knife I'd at least like it to work hehe.

Yea, no doubt. When I walk up behind a enemy on the mortar, I always pull out my pistol and do a few to the back of the head. Saves some rifle ammo and I feel like an executioner. Mmmmm the little things...
