Thread: Unlocked the UMP45... hot damn

I was on a tear last night with it. What a great weapon.

I'm now a .45ACP soldier with my 1911 and my UMP45. Not sure how much damage it does, but it was chewing up people last night.

Whoa, the UMP is a superweapon in BF3? I might have to get this game now... I always knew it had potential in CS:S even though people called it the worst gun in the game. The tables have turned!

yeah, I think I'm just having good luck with it, to be honest. it's no more powerful than any other SMG/PDW.
lately I've been loving the UMP45 and the SCAR-H.

It sucks that the 'Assault' class doesn't get a 7.62 battle rifle besides the G3 (which I need to do more COOP for to unlock...)

I need to study the TTK charts... I might whip out the FAMAS. looks like it's the best overall gun now?

wow, the FAMAS is gonna get nerfed next patch, I bet... that thing EATS through people at close and medium range. holy christ.

Now I will argue that if anyone can use it why soften it? I'm tied of dice pissing about with the popular weapons... I loved the m60 in bc2, I had fun with it, they killed it in a patch. I loved thermals, they killed it. Why not focus on problem areas rather than piss around with the weapons that anyone can use? I was getting destroyed by blood thirsts usas shot gun on metro, our squad was responsible for taking back the A flag. He killed me 5 times in a row even though I got the drop on him, mowing me down with that damn gun... So I bought in mine and cleared him, and his buddies single handedly pretty much. My point is adapt and overcome my friends. And now we are doing so, fix my fucking voip!

I love all the weapons in BF3, but I am disappointed that in the next 2-3 patches they will all be reduced to shotgun, machine gun, or sniper rifle. The names won't mean jack because they will all be the exact same.

I agree. They probably will dumb it down that much. That being said, no gun of the same caliber does anymore direct damage than another. The only difference is rate of fire and recoil.
The FAMAS is doing 900-1000RPMs (BattleLog claims 900, Symthic claims 1000)
I can only imagine that a nerf would constitute a reduction in rounds per minute or an increase in recoil... Personally, I hope for neither. The FAMAS is VERY easy for everyone to unlock.

I hope they don't nerf it, but I suspect people will bitch about how good the FAMAS is... but, like I said, if it's easy enough for people to unlock, they'll just unlock it. I mean it's REALLY easy. 10 revives and 10 heals? If you're playing Medic appropriately, you'll have it unlocked in 1 round.

Being able to kill someone in 1.81s with it is nice. It's getting me ahead considering I've got the worst accuracy and ability to compensate for recoil.

though looking at the TTK charts, I'm proficient with the UMP45 and the SCAR-H which are both towards the bottom.

it has a LONG reload time. I never noticed that, but that's normally because I take cover and call 'reloading' when I'm doing it so I don't get shot.

There in lies the rub. I PREFER my slower, same power, more bullets, faster reloading L85 over the famas...
