Where are the buttons?
Hi.
I hope this is in the right area.
I've been wanting to experiment with the command console in L4D, which requires the use of Tilde (~), but funnily enough L4D doesn't register me using that button in-game. I am using a Finnish keyboard, which requires you to use AltGr+Ļ
This works perfectly when writing and in any other situation, but not in L4D. I actually even changed my keyboard layout to that of USA boards, but L4D still did not accept that I was pressing Tilde.
Anyone else had this and how can I solve it?

You do have the developer console enabled in your game options, right?
You can also check your config.cfg file and see if this line appears:
bind "`" "toggleconsole"
Note that it is the ` key, not the ~ key.*********************************

Hi Iggy!
Yes, I had the developer console on and I did check the config.cfg file with my notepad. The line was there as it should be, so I figured that maybe the problem was in my laptop keyboard, which has the Function button that often causes some problems. So, I changed the tilde (') to § first and then to number seven (7). Neither button didn't work while I was playing.

Negatory. I've tried several different buttons, including the letter 'T', but no.
I also asked a friend of mine who owns a normal PC and he has the same problem. We both bought our respective games from Steam, if that has anything to do with this. Basically we have totally different hardware and even different versions of Windows - he has XP, I have Vista. We're getting kinda stumped here.
