World War II Online is a blast for awhile if you can stomach a somewhat big learning curve and monthly sub fee. Xeen and I used to play that a whole lot, but got burnt out after a few years. They have to sacrifice graphics, but in exchange for awesome realism and great teamwork.

Nothing like flying escort for a bomber group of 30+ DB7s, and running into a similarly sized axis strategic bombing wing thousands of feet over the middle of nowhere. Instant furball of 80 pilots with bombers flaming to the ground.
Or hiding your AT gun somewhere outside of town and singlehandedly knocking out an axis Panzer column that would have otherwise resulted in the loss of said town.

How about a paratrooper drop of 50 guys into a hotly contested area, all of you floating down hoping to not get picked out by the axis flak guns below. Then landing, spread out all over the place and getting to the RV point in time to infiltrate the town with the rest of the paras?

Hmmm I agree, either get Halo or wait for Vista and Halo 2, but for now games I suggest...DoD uhh some others hmmmm UT 2K4 is pretty fun, I think alot of people still play that and its only 20 bux
