My observations and early tricks for dealing with the new zombie AI/behavior.

I went into vybor to snag some food and cokes and maybe a nifty skin, I aggro'd on the edge of town, but I already had a plan.

My plan was to run into the back door of the super market, bolt out the front door and into the office/school building. It worked perfect, I ended up with about 6 zombies on my ass and lost them in the store. I then went back and took them out one at a time, hid the bodies and only received one hit before getting to the store's door.

I would highly suggest having cooked meat on you at all times now. Like 4+ even if you are careful you still might get seen and hit before you can use the LOS to your advantage. You need to be able to recoup your blood.

Once your in a town it is actually easier now to not aggro. Getting in seems to be the dangerous part. Don't panic try to scope out a route where you might not draw aggro but also a route where you have a building to duck into if the zombies win the day.

I have also lost zombies in the woods, I will turn a corner after passing a fir tree and the zombie lags behind a little, then might see me again, or simply loose sight if there is another LOS blocking tree near by. I have done this at least five times today. It is almost easier now in some fashion since terrain depending you can evade with out shooting.

Also crouch running is no longer fast enough to avoid zombie hits when they are right on you, but standing and running is. (I'm one for two on this, so it might be fast enough, but unless you want to take hits for science stand and run)

I also lost a zombie after getting in vybor by turning a corner around a fence and then turning right away behind a building, zombie stood at the fence opening for the half an hour I was in vybor.

This will take some getting used too, but all in all once this new system is mastered I think it will be easier, not harder.

Exactly. Another point is the tin can distraction. It never seemed to work for me before, but since this last patch it does. Example: I was solo in one of the factories on Sunday morning, there were 3 zombies spawned in a building that i needed to loot. I grabbed up a couple of tin cans and a bottle from one of the loot piles in the main building and chucked one of them off the roof down to a spot about 15 meters left of the building that i wanted cleared. All 3 zombies started to move out a few seconds after the toss. I wanted them further away than that so i threw another one and sure enough they followed. Once they got the spot the cans hit... they just stood there. I think this will be invaluable as well in negotiating the outskirts of towns where intentional aggro might be too risky.

Is it just me or does everyone spawn with no weapons now?

Well I could of looted vybor with out firing a round, only reason I did was because the zombies that I lost in the store were, well, in the store. Had I lost them in one of those two room and a hallway houses instead of the store then that would of been off the menu.

I haven't died yet to try my early strategy on a coastal town. The issue I see would be getting cornered in a building with no weapons, or you enter the building only to find zombies in it already where someone already ditched them.
