Thinking of checking DayZ out

Is anyone using the free Arma2 for this?

I have been watching the chatter and it looks good, but I don't wanna buy Arma2 right now. The items I have read do not recommend using it, but others said it was fine.

Looking for some advice, sounds like a good time y'all are having.

I don't think the free version is compatible, if it is it will be very low quality textures. If you enjoy games like PR it's up your ally. It's a sandbox basically where you create your own objectives. It can have some major lulls but when you hit the action it's a rush.

I put the $30 down on Steam to get it and it is money very well spent. As I understand it the free version will work but you still need operation arrowhead so you are not saving much and Arma II Free is limited visually (lower resolution/ textures).

It will not work with just the free version. You must have AT LEAST Operation Arrowhead, if you have that then the free ArmA II will suffice, albeit with VERY dumbed down graphics.
