"That" Mountain.....

So for shits and giggles a group of us decide to run to the mountain with the big ass radio tower. Theres all sorts of DayZ lore about the strange happenings at the mountain, so we opted for a night server to give our little trek a more "creepy" feel.

It was an uneventful run from somewhere north of Stary to the edge of the forest that surrounds the tower on the peak. Once we got there we all had to adjust for the artifacting that still plagues areas with static destroyed military outposts. Once we got those toned down or removed we headed in to the Radio tower site. No great loot of course and nothing out of the ordinary. We did however see some funny zombie spawns, including a zombie centipede consisting of 4 monkeys.

So after a while waiting and meeting up with Cleric, we head down the hill out the front gate and cook up some meat in the tree line. We put out the fire and all was dark and quiet. We had all been checking our corners before and after we cooked and ate, and were just deciding where we were going to go next when Krom hears a vehicle in the distance. I heard it too, it sounded about 200 meters away on the road in front of the tower.

Well, about five second after that we see headlights less than 20 meters away barreling at us through the woods at breakneck speed. A ural had plowed into the woods and was headed straight to our location. The headlights nearly blinded me as it tore into our area knocking down massive pine trees on the way. Allane fires off a few rounds at the driver who apparently was having trouble picking a target and decided mowing down trees was a better option, one nearly crushing Lefty.

Most of us quickly DC'd as this ural was moving through the woods at a speed none of us had ever seen a ural move. 2 stayed behind to see the ural disappear over a hill. Then all was quiet again. Since we were actually enjoying our time on that server, we decide to log back in. When the last of us re-joined, i hear a vehicle door slam off in the distance. Before we knew it, the mysterious ural was barreling down the hill at us, once again at incredible speeds and sparing no tree in its path!

Thats where we said "we're outta here!".....

Stay away from that mountain.... it wants to kill you!
