What is the best Empire?

The times I've been NC on Connery, I've mostly liked the players there. Usually it seems people are working together somewhat, only a few times have I been really annoyed with them (which was mostly when we had zero air support while the other factions were just destroying all our ground ops from the air).

Yeah!! Where are all the BF2 air whores this game should be a wet dream for them.

Lot of people are complaining on the PS2 forums about NC being underpowered. I thought most of you guys were saying they are the best? Or were you just taking the propaganda as it was and not questioning it? :P The devs have even said NC is underpowered. Another example on why how the class 'plays' means nothing, it's all about average dps over a few seconds which no matter what the devs will work their best to make as equal as possible.

The starter lmg for NC is beast even without unlocks. People might complain about them being underpowered due to bullet drop though.

Actually I believe people found a list or something that had a bunch of the weapon stats and found NC weapons (at least the standard ones iirc) take about 1 less bullet to kill someone then Vanu or TR.

Who cares when your weapon is sometimes shooting 1/2 as slow the other guy. If lets say it takes 4 bullets to kill when hes only shot 2 bullets I've already put 4 in him and hes dead. Higher ROF also means more room for error in CC situations. I've found my engagements to happen within close to medium range were high ROF rules. NC are great med to long range if you can control the recoil because of their harder hitting rounds. I've found terran to be the easiest of all the factions to get kills with because of the high ROF, and large ammo counts. Just an observation from someone who has played all 3 factions.

TR destroy up close with the rate of fire, but that is because your target is bigger and it is easier to get those shots. Most of their specialty weapons have setups that utilize this strat too.

Vanu run the middle because they can consistently make hits because of the accuracy of no bullet drop, though they lose out at distance because of the power drop off at range with their weapons.

NC have great hitting power but poor RoF so they will destroy you in a few shots but have to manage to hit, which is harder because of recoil and bullet drop. They do well at long range where you can time your shots and make them count without as much return threat.

I've played all three at one point or another and this is what I found. We ended up picking Vanu because it seemed like more of an underdog and is drastically different than the other two as far as feel and look.

True dat. On Waterson the TR are considered the fighting force and the ones we encounter most of the time. The NC are considered the village idiot/drunk you see stumbling around spurting nonsense.
