Re: Tpg day z server thread
Im not quite as hardcore as BL. I would say no to Way Points, and Crosshairs, but i like Third person for traveling.
Also as far as perks go, i dont think a gun should be an option. Maybe a compass and map. Or maybe and upgraded pack and a Morphine auto injector or two. (3 for Mafia) Of course there could be different levels of perks based on donation, like BMRF, just not as elaborate.

I say 3rd person needs xhairs. I don't see the point without. It's not like the game isn't hard enough already... Way points don't change the game other than it saves time - let's face it day z wastes a ton of time if you are lost. I circled around for 40 mins looking for Steg once. Way points make the game more tactical, you can set a point and disperse your squad, call coordinates etc.

Is that all? Seemed like it was all night, lol.
Crosshairs are unrealistic, imho. Wouldn't be opposed to them, but wouldn't get my thumbs up either.
Waypoints are a poor-mans GPS. I actually kinda like them, but have played soooo long without them. No WPs does make the game more realistic. Forces you to learn and recognize the terrain.Sent from an undisclosed location.

Re: Tpg day z server thread
Cant agree with this enough. No Way points does add challenge to the game, especially on a new map. And it weeds the good snipers out from the great snipers. No range finder? No problem if you have way points... just keep moving that marker until its right on your target, then even the worst sniper would be able to zero accordingly. Hey, i like that in a selfish way, but i also like to keep it as real as i can. I do find that easier than pulling up the map and figuring out the hypotenuse of a right triangle in quick fashion, but thats how its done.

I think you guys are too close to the game, we need it to be accessible enough for new players and vets alike. Keeping Cross hairs would be very good, way points maybe? I personally prefer as Scott mentions, I feel for a broader audience we need some of the crutches.

Re: Tpg day z server thread
You might agree with this though; Ive never been impressed with the broader audience.
If possible, i would like to draw the vets by default, and convert the newbies when they stumble in. But thats in a perfect world. The server not only has to be a haven of team play but also self sustaining in finances. A hard line to walk in my experience but it can be done.SmokenScion liked this post
