Re: Team "Pacifist" signup.
Depends on how you define banditz vs survivalistz. In my book, bandits play for the kill. S-guys play to build and live. Since bandits are a threat to survival, elimination is a priority if you have a decent chance of surviving the engagement.
None of us scare bearz signed up to be targets or glory kills for bandits. Eff that.
And btw, there are at least three banditish entities. Two were on last night and at times equalled or outnumbered the s-guys.Last edited by dreaddman; 01-01-13 at 01:13 PM. Reason: adds

Re: Team "Pacifist" signup.
I absolutely agree that the pacifists or survivalist shouldn't just take bandits lying down. Yet when they openly hunt other players, kill unarmed bambis on the beach and snipe without being in any danger that isn't a pacifist nor a survivalist (especially when they kill before they are aware of who the other players are). Those are the actions of a bandit and players should declare themselves as such.
Yet while sitting in the has TS channel as the carebears it seems that, they are masquerading as one even if they don't play like it. Seems like some players enjoy the safety of being called a barebear, yet enjoy a more aggressive playing style.
I'm not suggesting anyone change the way they play, just perhaps the groups could be better defined.
If there are other bandits groups on it doesn't seem reflected in TS, at least from my point of view.Last edited by CleverGeek; 01-01-13 at 01:58 PM.

Re: Team "Pacifist" signup.
Yeah, i think that pretty much sums it up.
But, when the enemy has declared, "we are out to hunt your ass, we will look for you and we will kill you" then us shooting on sight is completely justified. Its perfectly logical to assume, when we see you headed to Stary, or the NWA or anywhere else, you are not looking to PvE, or even gear in the traditional sense. You are hunting carebears, thus fair game.
Like spaz said, we're not holding hands around a campfire waiting to be killed. We are picking up freshies, helping them gear. To do that we have to visit high value areas eventually. We have been in Electro, Cherno, Berezino, Stary and the NWA on and off with and without enemy players on the server gathering gear the old school way. We're out there, doing what one would be expected to do, but we will be quick and sneaky about it when we can. Catch us in a group of 6 or 7 and you guys should have a field day. Working with a group that size can be like hearding cats.
And thats it for me. Theres enough drama in here to fuel a season of soap operas. We'll figure a way to make this work until we get a revolving population large enough to warrant all of us regs working together on a regular basis. Thats what i have been waiting for since i started playing this game.
PS. The bambi on the beach thing was not the norm for us, get over it. We had your team leader in our channel literally egging us on to do it. Its done, and over and wont happen again. In fact, we'd be happy to give you Bambis a ride to where ever you want to go so you can get geared up and get back in the action if you so wish. If that's not going out of the way to give you all what you want, i don't know what is.

Re: Team "Pacifist" signup.
Geek has a point though, if you are openly hunting people to "protect" your interests you are a bandit. I should specify what I had in mind.
There are 3 kinds of players. Bambi / new players, Bandits (medium skill), Care Bears (veteran players).
Bambis are pretty much clueless - they are the new guys figuring out survival.
Bandits are people who have some skill but lack the knowledge and patience that it takes to be a carebear. They kill any one no questions asked.
Care bears are veterans, they know allot about how to play rough or not. Therefore they have the hardest job - they must survive with cautious play, they never engage unless shot at or have no other choice, they most certainly never open fire upon someone without warning.

Does it really matter what a group calls itself? No. If you have been playing this game a long time, then you should know that you are never safe when another player is on. The problem is people are under the assumption that if the Pacifists are on that they can loot the coast cities without worry, go to Stary or NWA without confrontation, or feel good about running through open fields. Why? Because they "said" they wouldn't be engaging players without cause? This is DayZ. There is lying, deceit, and no trust.
Myself and Bucket have been roaming the country for some 2 weeks. We've engaged the enemy twice, tactically. Ask Scott or Lefty, I know how they work and they know how I work. There are many tricks to learn about this game if you want to go unnoticed and the simple truth is we have a lot of new players playing.
We are trying to micro-manage the groups right now. We have 3-4 separate groups atm, but let's try something new, not having names. Play as if you can't trust anyone, but your team. Be on your toes at all times, the enemy could be anywhere. That is how the game is meant to be played. And another thing we should stop playing with each others group when we don't want confrontation. That just misconstrues intentions of others. At least keep it to a minimum.
Team #1: Scott, Krom, Lefty, Dread, and a few more.
Team#2: Maximus, Steggy, Warprosper, Meritt, and a few more.
Team#3: Blonde and Bucket
And some independents.
Teams are fine. If you don't want to die, you have to realize that your every action weighs whether you live or die.

Re: Team "Pacifist" signup.
Team Pacifist is no more as of this post. It has gotten too big and has not played out to its original design.
I will be starting a new limited team.Mr_Blonde_OPS liked this post
