Perhaps start small with 1 evening every week or two being an Insurgency map, and then move up into bigger organized PvP events(hostage rescue, town attack/defense, etc.). That way we won't get anyone burned out on priming it and will be able to have population carry over between the DayZ crowd and non DayZ crowd.

We've already seen that everyone loved the organized events like the defense of Elektro, let's at least try having some more in a situation that is conductive to organization(which DayZ is definitely not).
I agree wholeheartedly to these statements. I often play insurgency mode and I can attest to how it is both exceedingly fun to play as well as holding TPG's ideals of teamwork and cooperation as a critical gameplay dynamic. I would be delighted if TPG got an insurgency server up and I would be happy to prime it up any time.
